The Obstinate Wall

I turn around to see the light
But a brick wall stands in my face
I think twice before I take flight
Yet have no hiding place.

The wall, oh yes, the wall
That stands for the glitches of my life
The wall, oh yes, the wall
That is not severed by a knife.

I turn my back to the wall,
To be met by my life so far
I turn back for refuge perhaps,
To try for a brand new start.

Trying and trying but with no avail
Trying and trying to balance the scale
Trying and trying to revive a life so pale
A life so arid, a life so stale.

I wonder after all this time-
I wonder if all will be fine
I wonder and wonder and wonder
If my life after all is worth…. a dime!
